Embracing Highland Traditions

We fell in love with the mountains! Not just the mountain landscape, but the beautiful houses made of hewn spruce logs, with wooden roofs and excellent construction. Generations of carpenters’ experience is visible in these houses. We envisioned a small settlement of such homes – wooden, natural, where everything fits. Around these houses, blooming trees, gardens with flowers, cats lounging on the fences, and the smell of the forest.

Creating a Dream

But could we make it happen? We did it! Though it wasn’t easy! Here they are – three first houses in our Górska Osada. Dreamed up, sketched out, equipped and decorated as if we were going to live in them ourselves. We built them in the place where, at the beginning of the 19th century, the Poroniańska Forge was located. Today, only the name of one of the Poronin settlements – Kośne Hamry – reminds us of it. And we found its foundation stone under the anvil.

Expanding the Dream

After building the houses, we moved on to the garden. There, a fairytale playground for children with the Basil Dome and Kacper’s Fortress emerged – which, like everything here, we designed ourselves. We also built a charming grilling hut and wooden terraces for summer tables by the stream where trout have settled.

Sharing the Love

It’s not just us who love our Osada. We have many guests – sometimes surprising ones! For example, deer visit us often, and the Tatra National Park is right next door. Black storks come to the rocks, where lizards like to bask in the summer. It’s good with us, because every year there are more of them. And around the stream, trout jump, and newts lurk. Before we settled here, we didn’t know that the pond was teeming with life. Now, we like to sit by the stream with a cup of coffee, play chess, and observe how the swallows work.

Life as Architects

We are both architects. After graduating from the Cracow University of Technology, we lived in the Kazimierz district of Cracow. It was beautiful, but it drew us to the mountains. It was a pastoral life, wind in our hair, herds of sheep on the meadows, and the smell of endless fields. Soon we ran up the trail with backpacks, or with snowboards, climbing Kasperski and feeling the freedom again, breathing the mountain air. And we fell in love with this escape.

Inviting Others

Now we share our mountains with others. We open the doors of our Osada and invite everyone who, by the warm fireplace in a romantic wooden hut, wants to be charmed by the smell of wood. Spring, summer, fall, or winter – because every season here is beautiful, and every escape from the city must end in the mountains. And I say – there’s always something to do! In winter, we ski and snowboard, have sleigh rides, bonfires with grilled lamb, and regional music performances.

A Year-Round Destination

Summer brings even more adventures – mountain trips, climbs in the parks, bicycle trips to Polana Zgorzelisko or Murowaniec. We like to jump over the streams with our dog Bazyl. For our youngest guests, we organize horse-drawn carriage rides and highland tales by the fire. Visit us if you also dream of such mountains – we invite you!
